This lesson is designed for a 5th grade classroom. Students will analyze two fields: the Olympic Games, and Gravity on other planets. They will, working in groups, prepare a presentation of their choice exploring the effect that the different gravitational forces would have on Olympic Performance if they were held on another planet. This lesson plan aims to integrate disparate subject matter, including Social Studies, Science, and Math, and will align with the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. It will feature collaborative work in groups, and attempt to take an abstract subject, gravity on other planets, and make it more concrete by relating it to the olympic games currently happening.
